Global business payments company Airwallex has secured $300 million in new funding, bringing its valuation to $6.2 billion. The latest round includes $150 million in Series F funding and another $150 million through secondary share purchases.
This significant investment comes during an active period for fintech companies, with strong funding activity and several firms preparing for public offerings.
Fintech Funding Stays Hot with Big Rounds and IPO Moves
Fintech investment continues to show strength. Just last week, trading platform eToro made its Nasdaq debut with a strong market response. Online banking service Chime also filed to go public, reporting rapid revenue growth in its IPO prospectus.

U.S. fintech companies are still attracting large funding rounds. Notably, Plaid raised $575 million this quarter, while Rippling, which provides HR and payroll tools, secured $450 million. Addepar, a wealth management platform, brought in $230 million in Series G funding.
Meanwhile, buy now, pay later leader Klarna refiled its IPO prospectus, signaling a potential public launch after postponing due to market conditions earlier this year.
Airwallex Eyes Growth and $1 Billion Revenue Run Rate
Airwallex is also on a fast growth track. The company expects to reach $1 billion in annual run rate revenue by the end of the year, with recent figures showing a 90% year-over-year increase.
Founded in 2015 in Melbourne and now based in San Francisco, Airwallex has raised over $1 billion in equity funding. Its latest backers include Square Peg Capital, DST Global, Lone Pine Capital, Blackbird Ventures, Airtree Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, and Visa Ventures.
As fintech investment remains solid, Airwallex is positioning itself for further global expansion and innovation in business payments.
